Adele Earnshaw
Adele's workshops are taught indoors, in watercolor. She shows
how she paints on dry 300 LB paper by glazing and layering using
transparent watercolor. She does two demos every class day and
spends individual time with each student. Students have plenty
of painting time in class. Studio workshops take all levels,
from beginners to advanced. She also shares her ideas on
'becoming an artist', including pricing and selling your work,
entering juried shows, framing, approaching galleries and the
all important attitude. |

Amy Evans
Amy Evans is an oil painter who creates colorful and expressive
landscape as well as still-life paintings. She paints primarily
“en plein air”. Amy rediscovered painting when she and her
family moved to Denver, CO. She enrolled in a watercolor class
at the Denver Art Students League and has been painting ever
since. She began painting the landscape and found that “plein
air” painting was her passion. While living in North Carolina,
Amy began painting in oils again as well as painting “interior
scapes” and still life. Now residing in Breckenridge, Colorado,
she continues to paint outdoors as much as possible. |

Susan Faust
Artist Susan Faust vividly expresses her love of natural beauty
through her plein air oil paintings. Painting "en Plein aire" or
"in the open air" has become her passion. "Painting on location
is the joy of my life. Everything seems right when I stand in
front of my easel and feel the day and the beauty around me".

painted in the studio from studies created in the field. As well
as being a dedicated painter, Susan also finds time to share her

has won her the deepest respect of her students, peers and
serious collectors. She has received many national awards and
honors that have culminated in her recognition as master
pastelist, and her election to signature membership in the
Pastel Society of America and Oil Painters of America. The
elements in her artwork consist of light, color and focal

Jane Fulton
Jane studied drawing and easel painting with her until 1997,
when she discovered the joy of painting outside. Putting her
love of the outdoors together with painting led her to scale
back her law practice while she attended classes at the
Scottsdale Artists School and the Southern California Art
Institute. By 1998 the lure of being a full time painter led her
to shutter the law practice; and devote full time to painting.
She is a member and Board Member of Laguna Plein Air Painters
Association; Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist
Society, and is a signature member of Plein Air Painters of New
Mexico. |

Bill Gallen
"When I look at other people's paintings, the thing I look for
is the presence of love. Love of subject, materials, facility of
handling – some evidence of joy, wonder of the ecstatic
interchange between the artist and her subject – the lover and
the beloved." Come to Santa Fe, explore the environs of this
historic high desert town while painting directly from nature.
All experience levels accepted. Morning and afternoon paintings,
demonstration and critique. Bill also offers private plein air
painting sessions with one on one training and correction. The
schedule provides morning and afternoon painting, demonstration
and critique. |

Bruce Graham
Bruce enjoys sharing what he’s learned from his mentors —a
collection of well-known artists who understand light, color,
and the power of an interesting brush stroke. “Inspired moments
are what every artist lives for, but the underlying skills and
the foundations of color, light, value, and composition are not
a secret. They have been passed down from artist to artist
through the ages. I’ve benefited greatly from the generosity of
artists who were willing to share their knowledge, and I’m happy
to keep passing it on.” |

Elizabeth
Greaf
The paintings that I create are intended to capture a moment
spent in a place that I was reluctant to leave. We so often
find ourselves lingering over a site that we are drawn to
because of its beauty, drama, meaning, or mood. My paintings
search for the essence of the attraction to the scene and
capture it in an artistic manner that enables the viewer to
visit that spot and linger as long as he or she desires. I would
hope that these paintings enable the viewer to go to the
painting, enjoy the obvious setting but then, while viewing,
pass beyond it emotionally and enjoy a happy mood or deal with a
troubling thought and move on feeling uplifted for the moments
spent with the artwork. |

Leigh
Gusterson
"For me, the experience of painting outdoors is wild,
exciting, mysterious, joyful, peaceful, sensual, meditative,
even religious, complete with prayer", writes Gusterson in her
artist statement. Her success continues to grow, as her painting
life deepens, and attracts the widespread appreciation of
collectors nationally and abroad. She has been the recipient of
numerous awards; her latest honor: having had one of her images
chosen for the 2003 Taos Fall Arts Festival poster, and having a
painting receive "Best of Show" at that exhibition. |
 |
Elaine Hahn
Elaine is a signature member of the American Watercolor and the
National Watercolor Societies. Her paintings have achieved
prominence through acceptance and awards in major national
juried exhibitions. Her works are included in private and

taught and conducted Workshops throughout Virginia for the
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Elaine has also won awards at many
of the art festivals where she has exhibited. |

Albert Handell
During spring, summer and autumn months, early morning and late
afternoon light are considered the best light for painting. The
specific schedule of the five day course gives you ample
opportunity to paint both. Demonstrations will be given in both
pastel and oils. Every morning during the workshop, Mr. Handell
will give a demonstration. Every afternoon, he and Anita will
give individual help to each artist while painting at one of
several special locations. |

Micaiah
Hardison
Micaiah's studies at Southern California ateliers, studies of
masters, intense self instruction and years of constant painting
have given him a deep appreciation for the traditional
foundations of oil painting and the skills required to create
good art. "I have dreamed of a magical landscape where students
gather to share knowledge and learn from masters, an inspiring
destination without distractions, full of up-building
conversation, constructive critique and good times." |
 |
Ray Harris
An avid surfer, he traveled extensively at an early age to paint
and sketch. Harris, a graduate of Art Center in Pasadena, has
worked at filmmaking for over twenty-five years. The
storytelling and visualizations have enriched his fine art
paintings and compositions. His paintings and drawings have
forced directors “look at the picture” rather than just the
script for development and guidance. The “casual confidence” he
brings to his paintings is a rare quality. He continues to
travel and paint on location in the plein air style. |
 |
Darrell Hill
Strong contrast, bold use of color, and light with surface
texture are hallmarks of Darrell’s paintings. He has a gift for
observation and the ability to paint with both freshness and
emotion. Darrell Hill paintings, which are featured in
collections worldwide, capture the moment of light that often
reflects a story. They are described as colorful and comforting,
warm and inviting and sometimes, courageous. As demand for his
work grew, it became necessary for Hill to devote his full
energies to gallery sales and the creation of larger paintings.
Many of his works are over nine feet. Since making that decision
he has enjoyed outstanding success in his career; which now
spans more than two decades. |

Aaron Holland
Aaron is known primarily for 'plein air' oil paintings of
landscapes, however he also explores with versatility a number
of other genre, such as portraiture, still-life, and historical
paintings, etc. Aaron is a dedicated teacher, and strives to
instill in his students a mastery of drawing, mixed with a
"painterly" approach to painting, and stresses the importance of
painting "direct from nature"; mixed with this is a thorough
knowledge of anatomy, an understanding of color theory, and
basic principles of pictorial composition, among other elements.

Timothy Horn
Throughout his career as a designer, Tim has always pursued the
study and creation of various types of fine art. In 1988 he
began black and white portraiture using an antique medium format
camera. He then studied furniture making and design in San
Francisco for 6 1/2 year, filling his house with handmade
furniture. From ‘93 to ‘98, he made clocks and medicine cabinets
from salvaged materials which he sold in several San Francisco
galleries. In 1998, Tim began oil painting — first the figure
and then landscape— and feels that he has finally found his
ultimate medium of expression. About half his work is done on
location, or “plein air”. |

William
Hosner
Bill's workshops are three and five-day adventures that
transcend subject. Students will work in the areas of figure,
still life and landscape, exploring how the effect of outdoor
light reveals itself on a subject and offers the artist unique
opportunities to use color that are not always afforded in the
studio. Bill teaches a manner of thinking and seeing that bridge
not only subject, but also medium. He considers himself a
painter who chooses pastel. The teaching is traditional and
follows a line of classical Impressionism trying to understand
and capture the effect of light. |

Debra Huse

thick paint on your brush and onto your canvas and leave it
untouched. Achieve texture and impasto and have fun doing it!;
"Pulling it all Together" On location, get your design and
composition, your drawing in perspective, nail your values
without garish color, apply thick paint notes and then learn
some techniques to address your edges for a more sophisticated
